Taichung city government and MOTC cooprated with professionals from all fields, and STARTRII was responsible for Driver-by-wire integration. Autonomous buses were operated to transport passengers on a regular schedule.
During this event, 423 trips were made and 5,000 people took test rides. This pioneer project was the first in Taiwan to transform a large diesel engine bus to an autonomous bus.
